A SPORTS club in Ryedale raised over £1,000 through a race night event.
The Ryedale Sports Club held a race night on June 17, raising £1,225 for the club’s fund.
On the night there were around 40 people in attendance in the club room, at the club’s site just off the A170 between Pickering & Thornton-le-Dale.
There were also steak pies from Auntie Annie’s pies of Helmsley and a raffle with prizes such as a meal for two at The White Swan and Bay Horse.
A spokesperson for Ryedale Sports Club said: “Many thanks to Titch Temple for selling raffle tickets on the night.
“Thank you to all members who sold horses/jockeys and to those who bought them.
“Thanks to Pop (Pete) Whitfield for compering on the night and to Andy and Sandra Dent for taking the bets.
“Thanks also to Jane Barnett for helping clean the club room and kitchen in preparation for the night.”
