FIREFIGHTERS were on the scene at a fire in a Ryedale village last night (July 27).
Crews from Helmsley, Thirsk, Easingwold and Northallerton attended a large fire in two fields of cut corn in Old Byland at 7.55pm yesterday.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said the fire was extinguished using four hose reel jets, beaters and small tools.
