ONE of Yorkshire’s leading manufactures celebrated their 60th anniversary.

Cable cleat manufacturers, Ellis Patents, based in Rillington, marked the special anniversary with an event at The Hospitium in York’s Museum Gardens on July 15.

An evening of fine food and live entertainment was held at the historic venue with the majority of the manufacturer’s 60 strong workforce, and shareholders in attendance.

Danny Macfarlane, Ellis Patents’ managing director, said: “In a world where businesses come and go, celebrating 60-years is something we are rightly very proud of.

“To get here, we’ve been adaptable, forward thinking and innovative, and have had the added advantage of being supported all the way by our shareholders and a talented and loyal team, many of who have worked with us for their entire careers.”

Ellis Patents was founded in 1962 by former Second World War pilot, Arthur Ellis and began life as a manufacturer of plastic pipe clips and cable clamps in York.

The company relocated to Rillington, near Malton, in 1974 and began manufacturing cable cleats in the mid-1990s.

Today, it actively exports to 50 countries through a global network of local distributors and is a widely respected manufacturer amongst its competitors.
