HUNDREDS of students from Ryedale School celebrated their end of year prom.

Around 130 were in attendance at The Feathers Hotel in Helmsley on Wednesday, June 29, to celebrate the end of exam season Year 11 prom.

This was the school’s first prom since 2019, as the event has been unable to go ahead over the past years due to Covid restrictions.

Students arrived at the prom using various forms of transport including tractors and coach and horses.

Headteacher of Ryedale School, Domenica Wilkinson, said: “As always, our students looked amazing and spectators enjoyed seeing the inventive modes of transport commandeered for arriving at prom.

“This year group have shown great resilience in navigating their way through a turbulent couple of years, and we look forward to celebrating with them again on results day.”

Ryedale School also said on Twitter: "Ryedale School's Y11 Prom last week. What a wonderful occasion and so happy to be together again to share a lovely evening."
