Crews from six fire stations tackled a forest blaze yesterday evening (Wednesday).
Crews from Scarborough, Robin Hoods bay, Sherburn & Pickering, along with the water bowser from Tadcaster and argocat from Kirkbymoorside, tackled an area of deep seated undergrowth and forestry on fire from 6.09pm at Langdale, near Scarborough.
Crews used various lengths of hose, three hosereel jets, knapsack sprayers, pitchforks, rakes and lighting. The cause is believed to be a camp fire left unattended.
Day crews returned to the site today (Thursday).
