A new 2k junior Parkrun at Pickering Community Park starts this Sunday at 9am.

This free weekly community event is aimed at children aged four to 14 and encourages them to enhance their physical and mental wellbeing, whilst having a lot of fun.

Rachael Harper, Event Co-Director said: ‘It’s wonderful to be bringing Junior parkrun to Ryedale and to get more young people and their families involved in the Parkrun community. Junior Parkrun is a great way to get kids exercising regularly and it’s a brilliant way to make new friends.Come along with the whole family to have some fun, meet new friends, and run, hop, skip or jump your way around our 2k route.’

Community Park Junior Parkrun has been set up with the aid of donations from Pickering Town Council, Malton, Norton & District Lions, Ryedale Lions, Pickering Running Club, Rotary Club of Pickering and District and the North Yorkshire County Council.
