A Production Manager at Sylatech has won an inaugural foundry industry award.
Mark Spooner, who works at the Kirkbymoorside-based engineering firm, was given the award during a trip to
the World Foundry Congress in South Korea.
In association with the Cast Metals Federation and the Institute of Cast Metals
Engineers, the new award is aimed at encouraging a young person in the cast metals
industry to increase their knowledge and develop some international experience.
Pam Murrell, CEO of the Cast metals Federation said: "Mark’s enthusiasm to ensure that Sylatech develops and innovates to improve casting quality and service to
its customers. The awards panel were confident that Mark’s thirst for knowledge and
interest in casting technology, will mean that he is able take full advantage from the
award."
Mark said: “There are great opportunities locally in the casting industry and
hopefully this award will inspire further people to join Sylatech."
