AN 18-year-old Norton man has been given a conditional discharge for causing a public nuisance.

Andrew George Cook, 18, pleaded guilty to causing a nuisance to the public by causing disruption to businesses and members of the public on Church Street, Norton, 'namely by being on top of a roof, threatening to jump causing a risk to self and others. '

Cook, who appeared before Scarborough Magistrates' Court on Monday was discharged conditionally for six months.
