A BUSINESS which has gone from strength to strength is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
Country Cobbler, in the Shambles, Malton marks the milestone in June.
Owner Ian Hall said he started with just one unit and has now expanded to have five units.
“We specialize in traditional shoe repairs, key cutting, shoe sales, walking boots, socks, belts and shoe care.
“I have been in the trade of repairing shoes for 39 years.
“I have also gone into selling shoes as well as the shoe repairs and key cutting.”
“Sixteen years ago we also expanded to a stand alone shoe shop in Finkle Street in Malton, going by the name Footwear by Country Cobbler.
“My wife Alison works in the shoe shop helped by Debbie.
“It sells such brands as Rieker, Lunar, Marco Tozzi and Tamaris.”
Ian added: “At the Shambles address I specialise in slight seconds and perfects in Loakes and Barkers.
“After the first Covid lockdown we expanded into the corner unit to expand our range into walking boots by Grisport.
“We’ve enjoyed serving Ryedale for the last 30 years with customers now coming from far afield.
“People enjoy been greeted by Alfie and Ernie the dogs who give a nice big warm welcome to old and new customers.”
