A spring Fairtrade fair will be held this Saturday.
A range of items will be on sale at the Fairtrade and Local Craft Fair on Saturday, March 5 at the Friends' Meeting House, Greengate Malton.
The Fair opens at 10 am and entry is free. There will also be Fairtrade chocolate, tea and coffee as well as lovely handmade crafts from local talented people. Rickshaw from the Shambles will also be there. Fairtrade refreshments, tea, coffee and cake will be served all day.
Fairtrade is a system of certification that aims to ensure a set of standards are met in the production and supply of a product or ingredient. For farmers and workers, Fairtrade means workers’ rights, safer working conditions and fairer pay. For shoppers it means high quality, ethically produced products.
Choosing Fairtrade means standing with farmers for fairness and equality, against some of the biggest challenges the world faces.
