Staff at Chapter One Bistro in Malton say it is a joy to be at work due to the close relationship between the team and their customers.

The bistro, which is owned by Jackie Scott, has been open for nearly 10 years and prides itself on its homemade food and friendly atmosphere.

Jackie said: “The best thing about Chapter One is the friendship between our team and customers. It’s a joy to be at work and feel like you are chatting with friends.

“We have also been lucky enough to win the Good Food Award for four years in a row, which is a great achievement and we are very proud.”

Jackie said Covid-19 has had a huge impact on Malton.

“We continue try to change and adapt the bistro in order to survive. During the first lockdown we started our takeaway menu. It was a great hit and still is today.

“We have changed our menu a lot over the past few years and now we have something for everyone, vegan,vegetarian, coeliac, gluten intolerance and dairy-free.

“We also have homemade desserts and fabulous cocktails to tempt you to stay a little longer.”

Jackie added: “We make everything from our juicy burgers to the coleslaw and tartar sauce.

“Our crispy chips are the best you’ll ever taste and our cakes are also homemade, ensuring quality food every time you visit.

“We have an amazing team who always offer a fabulous welcome to well behaved humans and canines too. We also offer a doggy menu for our four-legged friends.

“The effects of Covid have changed us, and with the news of the new variant spreading through out the world, we find ourselves living in very uncertain times again so we would like to thank all our customers for their continued support and wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
