Santa is to make a return visit to Sheriff Hutton Castle to entertain children there for the first time in more than 500 years.
In December, he will hold court in the medieval hall that forms part of one of the ruinous towers in the castle, which was built in the late 1300s by the prominent Yorkshire family, the Nevilles.
Along with his elvish helpers, Santa will entertain groups of children with tales from his prized Christmas diary, including the time he visited the castle in 1484 to deliver presents during a time when the castle was in its prime.
The Christmas at the Castle experience, which will last around an hour, will also offer the unique opportunity for people to visit the castle as it is not usually open to the public.
Christmas at the Castle takes place on December 4-5, 11-12 and 18-23.
December at various times. Tickets are available at xmasatthecastle.com
