PUPILS at Foston Primary School took part in a sponsored walk for a charity close to their hearts.
Each year the school selects a charity to support following research by the pupils followed by a presentation.
Teacher Vicki Allon, said: "After all the presentations have been made the children take part in a ballot and our new school's charity was chosen as Candlelighters, which has a connection with one of our families.
"Another charity that was highlighted by one of our children, whose dad was currently going through chemotherapy, was Treatment Bag which puts together luxurious gift bags for anyone going through treatment.
" It is really important for us as a school to support our families and communities and this charity children came a very close second and because of this we organised for a sponsored walk to raise both awareness and money for the charity and a huge £852 was raised."
