A charity auction has raised over £3,000 for Ryedale Dog Rescue.

The evening, at Malton Cricket Club, was hosted by Angus Ashworth of Ryedale Auctioneers.

Local businesses donated the items which went under auctioneer Angus’ gavel to raise funds for the charity which takes care of and rehomes abandoned dogs.

Ryedale Auctioneers van driver Pete’s dog Barney, a Staffordshire cross, was adopted from Ryedale Dog Rescue a few years ago and is a popular member of staff at the company.

Rosie Stephenson of Ryedale Dog Rescue, said: “The money raised is really important to us because we recently took on some dogs that needed expensive veterinary treatments.”

Angus and his team at Ryedale Auctioneers in Kirkbymoorside appear on The Yorkshire Auction House television series on Really, and Angus is a regular expert on Antiques Road Trip. A celebrity version of the Yorkshire Auction House is currently airing Mondays 9pm on Really.
