The low-cost airline Ryanair has announced today that it will be launching a new route from Leeds-Bradford airport.

The new route will fly to Poznan in Poland, beginning in the winter this year.

To celebrate Ryanair has also launched a £19.99 seat sale for travel until the end of March 2022.

This must be booked by midnight on Saturday October 16 on their website.

Ryanair’s Director of Commercial, Jason McGuinness, said: “As Europe’s No.1 airline, Ryanair remains committed to re-building Europe’s aviation and tourism industry by restoring connectivity and growing its network of passengers to over 225 million by 2026.

"As Ryanair takes delivery of 55 additional Boeing 737-8200 ‘Gamechanger’ aircraft this winter, we are delighted to add this new route from Leeds-Bradford to Poznan."

A spokesperson for Leeds Bradford Airport, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Ryanair flights to Poznan, which builds on our commitment to offering passengers more choice for exciting new destinations at LBA, and continues to cement our long-term relationship with the airline.

"As we continue to see more routes announced for 2021/22, and all LBA destinations now on the Government green list and open for travel, we can’t wait to welcome passengers from across Yorkshire and the UK back through our terminal.

"We look forward to collaborating with our airlines on sustainable options for the future."

What other new routes have Ryanair opened this year?

This isn't the first time that the airline has announced new routes for the winter of 2021 for various UK airports.

Back at the beginning of September Stansted, Luton and Gatwick all had journeys opened to further European destinations.

This included destinations like Helsinki, Zagreb, Naples, and Malaga.
