The 1960s, 1970s and 1980s are rightly remembered for producing fantastic music and all three decades will be celebrated over one weekend at the Milton Rooms in Malton.

Firstly, on Friday, September 3, a double-header with Back to the 80s featuring Craig Hill’s Rubix Cube and Martin Gough’s The Best of Bowie.

Craig Hill has been gigging as a duo reviving the 80s all over the UK at festivals, clubs and functions for many years with the Rubix Cube 80s Tribute Show.

This show sees him perform solo and will bring back some real classics.

Martin Gough is arguably the closest vocalist to the late, great David Bowie on the UK circuit. He has wowed audiences across the UK, Europe and even as far as Dubai. This show celebrates the very best of Bowie’s varied career.

The following night, September 4, sees a performance from Andante Live with Blowin’ in the Wind. Combining the vocal harmonies of Vee and Mark, with16 instruments between them and outstanding musicianship, they give an uplifting and inspiring taking the audience back to the era of peace, protest and love with uniquely arranged classic songs such as Mr Tambourine Man, Imagine, The Night They Drove Ol’ Dixie Down, Big Yellow Taxi, The Sound of Silence, All You Need is Love and many more.

Meanwhile, back in the 21st century and for those far too young to remember the 60s, 70s and 80s, there is a back-to-school treat on Wednesday, September 8 with the Carnival of the Animals.

Join the fabulous players of the Orchestra of Opera North for this relaxed concert for young children and their families, where moving around and responding naturally to the music is actively encouraged. .
