For this week’s look back we feature teams from Brooklyn Junior Football Club (JFC).
Brooklyn JFC was formed in 1982 by Paul Potter from Rillington. The team he created had already played for a couple of seasons at West Heslerton before obtaining the use of the ground and facilities at the Brooklyn Youth Centre in Norton. At the first meeting of the club it was decided that it should be named after the Youth Club and so Brooklyn Junior Football Club was formed. In its first season the club fielded two teams - U11s and U13s.
In 2012 the club formed a partnership with Malton Community Sports Centre, to establish a new home for Brooklyn JFC.
