Ryedale Show went ahead virtually for the second year last week due to coronavirus pandemic.

A decision to cancel this year’s show was made back in April due to Covid uncertainty, however organisers had great interest in the virtual show that has taken its place.

Show secretary Christine Thompson said: "We are very grateful to the local businesses who have continued to support us through providing sponsorship and purchasing trade stand virtual spaces.

"Once again, our main sponsor is Angus Ashworth and his team at Ryedale Auctioneers www.ryedaleauctioneers.com. We are so pleased that other sponsors have supported each of the sections."

Equine: Crombie Wilkinson Solicitors. Cattle: Derwent Vale Farm Vets. Sheep: Pearsons and Ward Solicitors. Fur & Feather: Castle Farm Vets. Produce & Crafts: North York Moors National Park. Children’s Section: Beadlam Grange Farmshop & Tearoom. Farm Produce: Karro Foods. Vintage: Bishopton Veterinary Group.

Christine said: "We have received almost 120 entries across all the normal show sections. Exhibitors were asked to submit two photographs of each entry together with a short video and judging has taken place over this last week. Our thanks also extend to all the judges and their winners can be viewed via our special Virtual Show page of the website https://ryedaleshow.co.uk"

Christine added: “The awards will be made at a Presentation Evening in the autumn which will bring everyone back together again and will kick start the preparations for a “normal” bumper Show again next year.

"Although I’m sure that Covid has improved our IT skills there really isn’t anything to replace a live event and we can’t wait to see everyone again in 2022”.
