THIS week's stars of the week are members of the 1st Norton Scouts took part in a sponsored walk at the weekend.

The Scout group completed 6km on Sunday to raise funds to support the reopening of the group and also the Tom Parsons Trust.

A spokesperson from 1st Norton Scouts said: “ There were 71 registered walkers in the end all enjoying the sunny route from Norton over to Langton.

"The fundraising will support the costs of the insurance and also help to support our partner charity for this year, the Tom Parsons Trust.”

Tom Parsons, from West Heslerton, died in 2016. The 22-year-old suffered from myocarditis, which is inflammation and damage of the heart muscle.

His parents, Sue and Nick, set up the Tom Parsons Trust, which has provided defibrillators in the community.
