A FAMILY is raising awareness for cystic fibrosis through a virtual quiz in June.

Kat Howard, 32, and her auntie, Ann Bowley from Pickering, are organising a quiz on Tuesday, June 15, to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Kat was diagnosed when she was aged five after suffering with constant chest infections and colds.

Cystic fibrosis is a genetic condition affecting more than 10,800 people in the UK.

People with cystic fibrosis experience a build-up of thick sticky mucus in the lungs, digestive system and other organs, causing a wide range of challenging symptoms affecting the entire body.

“In support of Cystic Fibrosis Week from June 14 to 20, we are arranging this quiz to bring attention to this life limiting disease,” said Ann.

“Any money raised goes to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, who work to find a cure for this illness.”

Entry is £4 each and starts at 8pm.
