A HOLIDAY site has gone up for sale with a £1.5m price tag.
The caravan park is an established site near Whitby in the North York Moors National Park set in 4.65 acres of mature grounds with a licence.
The site is developed to provide 30 static pitches and nine touring pitches, and a camping area.
Tom Watson, director of Cundalls which is handling the sale, said it was a rare businesses opportunity in a sought-after area.
“It is in a national park where it is incredibly difficult to get permission for a new caravan park. This is an established park in a lovely part of the world, so this sale is a rarity. It’s going to be popular.
“It is a retirement sale; the current owners have been there about 20 years and want to retire.”
The site also has shower and toilet facilities with further potential for development, subject to consent.
The sale also includes a period four-bedroom house with private garden, with an annexe attached to the property with planning consent with potential to develop holiday let or incorporate and extend into the main house.
It is described as ‘attractively situated caravan park located in an ideal position for tourists being located between Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay’.
The opportunity comes on the back of a successful sale by Cundalls of another leisure park development, set in 83 acres of woodland at Cloughton, Scarborough.
The site, which had an asking price of £600,000, has full planning consent for 15 holiday accommodation units, from safari tents, timber lodges and tree tents.

Set in 5.6 acres of grounds, a spacious five-bedroom house is on the market for £795,000, offering bed and breakfast accommodation, along with two well stocked coarse fishing lakes.
The agent, Cundalls, said it was in an excellent location with further potential.
