A TOWN pharmacy is moving to new premises this weekend,

Derwent Pharmacy will move from its current location as part of Derwent Surgery to the former job centre.

Owner Neil Beecham said: "When it comes to the logistics of the relocation, we will close at our normal time on Saturday May 1, move everything across from the Saturday afternoon, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday, and open up at the new premises with our usual opening hours from Tuesday, May 4.

"The services etc of the pharmacy will be exactly as they are now, and as mentioned we hope to expand these in the coming weeks, months and years.

"As the new premises is close to where we are currently, parking options are the same as now but we also have a few spaces with the building that we plan to sign up as short stay parking spaces for prescription collection."

The building has been named 'Ian Beecham House' as a nod to the legacy and influence of Neil's father on the community he lived and served.

Neil said: "I would stress if anyone has any queries relating to our move to please just give us a call. Our phone number will be staying the same, and the address won't be much different either.

"This is a big move for our business but I see this as a positive step not only for our staff team, but more importantly to be able to improve and develop our service offering to the community where we live and work."
