NORTH Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses after a man was the victim of a serious assault.

The incident happened on St Nicholas Street, in Scarborough at approximately 12.30pm on April 6 (Tuesday), outside Lloyds Bank.

The victim, who is in his early 20s, was treated in hospital for serious facial injuries.

A spokesperson for the force, said: “We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

“St Nicholas Street is very busy with members of the public, and we are appealing for any persons to come forward if they have witnessed the incident the incident or can offer any with information.”
