POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after a motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a crash between Pickering and Whitby.

It happened at around 4pm yesterday afternoon (30 March) and involved a Black Kawasaki Motorcycle that left the road on the A169, near the Goathland junction.

The rider, a man in his 30's, was air-lifted to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough for treatment.

A spokesperson for the force said: “The stretch of road was closed for four hours while officers investigated the scene and to allow the motorcycle to be recovered.

“Officers are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who recalls seeing the motorcycle prior to the collision, to get in touch as soon as possible to assist the investigation.”
