TWO young friends are saddling up this weekend to help raise much needed funds for the Macmillan Yorkshire Appeal.

Evie Otterburn-Smith, aged 13 and Annie Foster, 12, are riding their ponies eight miles as part of the 2021 Yorkshire Hack.

Last year Macmillan lost over £1m in income across Yorkshire. In response to this, they have launched the Yorkshire Appeal which aims to raise additional funds for vital services that are needed to support the 179,000 people currently living with cancer in the county.

Evie and Annie said: "We are organising our own ride out to rein in some much needed funds to support everyone affected by cancer in Yorkshire. We will be riding eight miles from Sinnington round by Cropton and Appleton le Moors."

"Please sponsor us to raise money for this worthwhile charity and help us ‘stirrup’ some much needed funds for the Macmillan Yorkshire Appeal."

Over the weekend of the April 4, you can join the 2021 Yorkshire Hack by organising your own 3, 8 or 15 mile hack in aid of Macmillan. Every rider who raises at least £25 will receive a special 2021 Macmillan Yorkshire Hack rosette and the rider in each category who raises the most sponsorship by midnight on April 30 will win a special prize.
