One of the UK’s biggest foodie events, the Malton Food Lovers Festival returns to Malton this year following a 2020 hiatus during the national lockdown.

Fuelled by popular demand, the twelfth festival will run over three days from the 28th – 30th August 2021, for a giant gourmet celebration that will welcome visitors from across the country.

To make the comeback of the Food Lovers Festival even greater, Visit Malton will also blend in the Harvest Food Festival, which previously took place in September and this all coincides with ‘Beertown’ to create one show-stopping gastronomic event for the town.

With the promise of an extra day’s festivities, the 2021 Malton Food Lovers Festival is set to be the biggest yet, welcoming food and drink aficionados in their thousands to savour delicious produce from hundreds of independent and artisan producers from its Yorkshire heartland.

The event recently took home the crown from the Garbutt & Elliot Yorkshire Food & Drink Business Awards, which celebrates the region’s food industry. The 2021 Festival will host a bustling producers’ market with tasty street food from around the globe as well as; talks, tastings and demonstrations from the country’s finest culinary talent, live music and family entertainment.

Tom Naylor-Leyland, Director of Visit Malton, says: “It’s been a challenging time for everyone this past year, so we’re thrilled to be hosting the 2021 Malton Food Lovers Festival in August. We’ve had to move the date from our traditional Spring Bank Holiday weekend because of the ongoing lockdown but we’re working to ensure the event will be as safe as possible, even after the lockdown measures are lifted.

“It’s a true privilege to be able to host this year’s Festival as it was sorely missed last year. It’s a celebration of good food, top quality produce and most of all, the very best of Yorkshire. We can’t wait for visitors to come along and see everything Malton has to offer!”

The Food Lovers Festival is free to attend, and a Park and Ride is available at each entrance to Malton from the A64, with a free shuttle bus service to the event. Disabled parking is available at the Park and Ride sites, as well as at Wentworth Street and Water Lane Car Park. Malton is also accessible via public transport with frequent train services to the town from York and Scarborough and Malton is on the award winning Coastliner bus route.

Stallholders can now register their interest in attending the Malton Food Lovers Festival on the Visit Malton website.
