Homes left without power after pylon fire
HOMES lost power supply after an electricity pylon fire.
North Yorkshire Fire And Rescue Service say they were called out at 6.07pm yesterday to Main Road, in Weaverthorpe near Malton.
A spokesperson said: "A crew attended a fire to a wood electricity pylon which was out on their arrival.
"The fire caused slight fire damage to the top of the wooden pylon post and a small area of cable.
"Electricity Board requested to attend as a couple of properties lost their power supply due to the fire. No action by fire crew."
