A SCHOOL is focusing on improving mental and physical wellbeing by taking on a skipping challenge during lockdown.
Gillamoor C of E Primary School has challenged their students to skip to music for two minutes and record their score every week.
Three students are awarded for most number of skips, best effort and most improved.
"It's so important to nurture our students during this strange and worrying time," said Andrea Hayes, the school's headteacher.
"Around 55 per cent of students are still in school, so we're organising daily walks to allow the freedom to explore in small groups.
"We also created a care package for parents with lots of lovely things such as scented candles, chocolate and mindfulness cards.
"Wellbeing is a top priority and we appreciate everyone's support."
