POLICE have issured a warning following complaints about the number of people travelling around Ryedale at the weekend.
Concerns were particularly raised in Helmsley and surrounding hills where people were sledging.
A spokesperson for Malton police said: "We were aware of a large gathering of people at Blakey Ridge and other beauty spots in the area for the purpose of sledging.
"We do not have the resources to stop every one and enquire where they are from and why they are present, but we will continue to engage where possible and encourage everyone to abide by the regulations."
"People are reminded of the rules and advice given by the Government during this third lockdown and avoiding travelling outside of your village, town or the part of a city where you live This is for your safety, and if people do not follow these rules, they will be fined."
