A SEVEN-year-old boy has “spread some love” over Christmas by helping others in need.
Richard Wood, who lives in Malton, collected essential items and treats to create care boxes to distribute to the homeless.
The youngster, who attends St Mary’s RC School, came up with the idea after watching a TV programme which mentioned the homeless.
Richard’s Christmas Wish supplied 60 care parcels to Changing Lives and 19 to Foundation UK. His school friends also created letters and Christmas cards to put into each parcel.
His mum, Karen Wasikowski, said: “One of the homeless residents named him King Richard of York. He was very moved. They also signed a thank you card and gave him a pair of superhero socks. It was such a moving day, my heart was fit to burst with pride, there were tears.”
