JUST two areas of Ryedale have seen a rise in new cases of coronavirus, week on week, according to the latest data.

Figures from Public Health England show the areas of Helmsley and Ampleforth and Rillington and Sherburn have both seen their seven-day rolling average up to December 5, compared with the previous week, increase.

All areas in Ryedale are now below the national average, including Kirkbymoorside and Moors which has seen its seven–day rolling rate for 100,000 population go from 259.1, up to November 27, to its current 45.7. The national average is 157.8.

For Ryedale and surrounding area, the figures for the seven days up to November 27 are (seven–day rolling rate in brackets):
