ONE area of Ryedale still remains above the national average for new cases of coronavirus, despite a fall in the numbers.

Latest data from Public Health England shows Kirkbymoorside and the Moors has had 17 new cases confirmed in the seven days leading up to November 27.

It means the seven–day rolling rate for 100,000 population for Kirkbymoorside and the Moors is now 259.1, above the national average of 157.6.

It is better news for neighbouring Helmsley and Ampleforth, which had fewer than 3 new cases. All other areas in Ryedale are also below the national average.
