MALTON Museum is appealing for volunteers for a series of new activities for the spring season.

The museum, based in Yorkersgate, in Malton, is planning new outdoor tours and other open-air activities for 2021 when it reopens.

To make this happen, the museum needs more volunteer tour guides and other outdoor helpers.

A spokesperson for Malton Museum said: “We are looking for adults or sixth form students to join our team of outdoor volunteers, in particular those who would like to be trained as tour guides or helpers with the tours.”

Volunteers do not have to have detailed knowledge about Malton history just an interest in the past and where you live.

Full training will be given, firstly via an online professional training session, specifically designed for Malton tours, followed up by briefing sessions from the museum tour guide team.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, email the museum at maltonmuseumoffice@gmail.com by Monday, November 19. Joining the course does not commit you to volunteering.
