POLICE are warning people to be vigilant following reports of an email scam regarding penalty charge notices.
A spokesperson said: " We've had multiple reports of an email scam claiming to be HM Courts & Tribunal Service and serving individuals with a penalty charge notice related to their vehicle. This is a SCAM. Do not click any of the links in the email and delete it immediately.
"North Yorkshire Police will never email you without making contact through another means, e.g. post, first.
"If you have clicked any of the links or made a payment, call 101 to report this to the police."
