THE number of new cases of coronavirus in North Yorkshire has gone up.

The figures from Public Health England show the total number of cases for the North Yorkshire County Council area now stands at 2,741, up three on yesterday. It has a a rate of 443.5 per 100,000 population.

The total number of cases in the Ryedale District Council area remains at 143, a rate of 258.2 per 100,000 population, as well as Scarborough which stays at 573, a rate of 526.9 per 100,000 population.

The total number of cases for the City of York Council area has also gone up by three, and now stands at 970, a rate of 460.5 per 100,000 population.

All of these figures include both pillar 1 and pillar 2 cases.
