THE death toll from coronavirus has been revealed for every neighbourhood in Ryedale and North Yorkshire.

A map shows 10 people have died from Covid-19 in Malton and Norton since the start of the pandemic, four in Pickering and Thornton-le-Dale, six in Helmsley and Ampleforth, five in Kirkbymoorside and Moors, six in Sheriff Hutton, Slingsby and Swinton, one in Rillington and Sherburn and seven Ayton and Snainton.

The figures have been released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) which says statistics relate to deaths in which Covid-19 was mentioned as the underlying cause or contributory factor on the death certificate.

It says the areas are "Middle Layer Super Output Areas" - small statistical areas with similarly sized populations - not council wards.

There have been five Covid-related deaths in Easingwold and Stillington, five in Thirsk and Coxwold, one in Linton and Tollerton, 14 in Boroughbridge and Marton cum Grafton, and 10 in Ouseburn, Hammerton and Tockwith.

In East Yorkshire, Pocklington has seen two such deaths and Stamford Bridge and Sutton Upon Derwent have had nine.
