VOLUNTEERS are appealing for any extra fruit or vegetables from allotment holders or gardeners.
Pickering Food Share, based at Ingsgarth Community Centre, in Pickering, provides unsold food items past their sell-by-date, but not past the use-by-date.
Volunteers are also appealing for unwanted eggs from Ryedale farmers.
The community centre is open on Wednesday and Fridays, from 10am to 1pm, with social distancing guidelines and a one-way system in operation.
Anyone is welcome to donate unwanted food or volunteer towards the project.
For more information about the project, or to donate items, email Pickeringfoodshare@gmail.com or visit Pickering Food Share on Facebook.
