THE number of new cases of coronavirus in North Yorkshire has gone up, including one in Ryedale.

The figures from Public Health England show the total number of cases in the Ryedale District Council area now stands at 143, up one since last Friday.

It is a rate of 258.2 per 100,000 population, compared with an average of 513.4 per 100,000 population across the whole of England.

The North Yorkshire County Council area now has 2,738, a rate of 443 per 100,000 population.

The total number of cases Scarborough is now 573 and 967 for the City of York Council area.

All of these figures include both pillar 1 and pillar 2 cases.
