A DOG has been injured after it was bitten by another dog.
It happened on the footway past the beach cafe at Reighton Gap near Filey and involved a man with a young son who were walking their spaniel.
During the incident, the spaniel was bitten by another dog, leaving a puncture wound.
The suspect dog is described as similar to the spaniel in size but stockier and black and white in colour, and is reported as having been in company with four adults and a child.
The incident happened at 4pm on Saturday, July 4, but was not reported to police until some weeks later.
North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses.
