A PILE of sawdust and hay caught fire in Helmsley last night.
Firefighters were called out at 8.44pm to reports of a fire in the open.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire Service said: "On arrival this was an area of approximately 10 x 12 metres of hay and sawdust alight. Crews used one hose reel jet and small tools to extinguish the fire."
