A GROUP of musicians are hoping to bring the community together with an open-air concert.

Trilogy - a flute, viola and harp trio- will perform an evening of classical music at Manor Hall Farm, in West Lutton, on Saturday, August 22.

The group formed in January 2019, but as individuals they have performed with the London Symphony Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic and Philharmonia Orchestra.

“Like many sectors, the arts has been tragically affected during the pandemic,” said Amy-Jane, Trilogy’s flautist, who lives in Kirby Grindalythe.

“Music brings the community together and it is so important in supporting the economy.

“It was heart-breaking to witness the music profession and our work disintegrate in a matter of weeks.

“We are determined for Trilogy’s performing opportunities to continue and cannot wait to perform an open-air concert in August.”

Families and individuals can enjoy the classical music concert in the open-air setting in the Yorkshire Wolds, with the back-up of an open-air barn.

Everyone is encouraged to bring a picnic blanket, seating and refreshments.

“There was a week in March, just before the UK lockdown where my entire 2020 diary of performances, and majority of teaching was completely wiped out,” said Henrietta, Trilogy’s violist.

“Tired of seeing ‘what I was meant to be doing’, I threw away that 2020 diary and got a new one: a clean slate for 2020.

“I am hugely looking forward to playing with the Trilogy Ensemble ladies again.

“I cannot tell you how brilliant it is to have a live summer performance written into my brand-new clean diary, and to be able to make chamber music again.”

Following government guidelines, designated areas will allow for social distancing and hand sanitising will be available on site.

The venue will make proactive steps to promote health and hygiene best practices and recommend everyone to wear a face covering.

Gates will open at Manor Hall Farm, at noon.

Tickets are £10 for adults, £5 for under 16s and free for under fives.
