ROADWORKS are getting under way in Pickering next week.

Highway maintenance work will take place Middleton Road, between the Potter Hill and Pipers Acre junctions, starting on Monday, August 3 and lasting for up to two weeks.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire County Council said: “The work is part of an extensive programme and as a consequence it is possible that some adjustment to this start date or the duration of the works may be necessary should unforeseen circumstances, such as significant weather events or emergencies on the highway network arise.

“It is intended to undertake the works over 100 metre lengths and only implement a road closure where absolutely necessary. However, road closures will be minimised if residents can be flexible in regard to on street parking during the works.

“Any closures will inevitably restrict vehicular access to properties directly affected but our contractors will try to assist you where possible during the working day through the use of on-site personnel tasked with managing access."
