THE birth registration service in North Yorkshire has resumed.

Register offices in the county have reopened, with new rules to maintain social distancing and extra hygiene measures.

Strictly by appointment only, registration is open to parents of new babies born at York Hospital, Middlesbrough’s James Cook or Airedale Hospital.

“We are sure that parents and carers will be pleased to see all our register offices back open and our full service resume,” said County Cllr Greg White. “Please be assured that our offices are equipped with suitable safety measures to keep everybody safe.”
