SELBY Town have confirmed the re-signings of five more players to their squad for the 2020/21 season.

Selby missed out in their promotion bid last term from the Toolstation Northern Counties East League division one amid the coronavirus pandemic which saw their league season declared null and void.

The Robins were third in the table when the campaign was stopped, two points off top spot with two matches in hand.

Manager Christian Fox has now begun tying down the futures of several key players from last term, with star striker Liam Flanagan and captain Ryan Gothard both confirmed as being retained last week.

As well as those two, five more players have re-signed.

Fans’ favourite Brett Lucas is extending his stay having returned to the club last season.

Full-backs Josh Rogerson and Luke Sellers also remains at Selby, with the former having started his career at the York City academy.

His sponsor, Phil Dearnley, said: “It gives me great pleasure to sponsor Josh and Luke.

“I’m sure that I am not the only Robins fan who is delighted to see this pair return.

“For me they were both absolute stars last season. Resolute in defence, yet adding to Town’s attacking prowess.

“I can’t think of a better pair of full backs in our league.”

Goalkeeper Dylan Parkin has also been retained.

Boss Fox said: “Dylan is another massive signing for us as he showed his quality in the few games that he played last season.

“Having a top quality goalkeeper is very important at every level so I’m very happy he will be with us next season.”

Midfielder Charlie Clamp, nicknamed ‘The Selby Pirlo’, will also be part of the 2020/21 squad.
