A HELMSLEY shop is supporting Ryedale Foodbank with a fundraiser.
Lynn Hempsall, owner of Helmsley Traditional Sweet Shop, decided to support the charity following the death of York teacher, Mark Barnett, who advocated the importance of foodbanks.
Mark, who supported Selby Foodbank, explained the concept of foodbanks to Lynn during his lifetime.
“This fundraiser is paying tribute to all his hard work, and the hard work of volunteers ensuring everyone has food during the coronavirus pandemic,” said Lynn.
Customers purchase a raffle ticket for £1 and the first prize is a sweet hamper, worth £25.
The raffle will be drawn on July 17. Visit helmsleysweets.co.uk
