A PICKERING man is appealing for donations, after raising more than £1,150 for charity.
Phil Fisher, 75, decided to walk the equivalent of a half marathon on his driveway for Ryedale Special Families (RSF) on May 26.
The charity supports his 12-year-old grandson, Jack, who has cerebral palsy and epilepsy.
“The charity has lost a great deal of sponsorship from the London Marathon, so during lockdown I decided to help,” said Phil. “Ryedale Special Families is a wonderful organisation which looks after so many children with disabilities - as a family we cannot thank them enough.”
Lisa Keenan, from RSF, added: “We are so grateful for Phil’s wonderful efforts at such a difficult time.”
