FIREFIGHTERS are at the scene of a large blaze at a waste recycling centre.
Crews were called to Seamer Carr Waste Recycling Centre, in Scarborough, this morning.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue said: “Good progress is being made tackling the fire and ground monitors are in use.
“Machinery is being used to drag out waste from the building to help firefighters tackle the fire."
She added: "The incident is now being scaled down, some fire engines will be leaving the scene shortly."
Motorists are being urged to avoid the Dunslow Road area.
