A SCHEME to provide 12 new affordable homes has been supported by a cash injection by Scarborough Council.
The council’s cabinet has voted to give £60,000 from its Section 106 funds to the York Housing Association (YHA) project in Hinderwell Lane, Staithes.
The scheme will provide 12 homes for rent and shared ownership for households in need with a local connection to Hinderwell Parish and received planning permission from the North York Moors National Park Authority last year.
The cabinet heard that a budget of £1,250,000 had been set, but that it later increased by £330,000 due to a change to the drainage required following site investigations.
