A NEW children’s adventure film has been released, based around Ryedale and the North York Moors.
The Runaways follows the story of Reith (Mark Addy), a single dad in Whitby, who owns a donkey rides business, until disaster strikes.
His three children - Angie (Molly Windsor), Polly (Macy Shackleton) and Ben (Rhys Connah) - venture across the North York Moors, with two donkeys, to find their mum.
“As my children have grown up, we always went on weekends away to the North Yorkshire coast,” said director, Richard Heap.
“I got a little tired of seeing animations and felt there was an opportunity to do something where they could feel part of something, imagine it was them inside the adventure.”
