BROOKLYN Playgroup in Norton is looking forward to updating its garden thanks to a fundraising boost from parents.
Following a recent committee meeting, Philippa Gibson, whose son attends the playgroup, organised an online raffle with the support of other mums, raising £545.
Manager Heather McIvor said that as a charity reductions in national funding was having an impact on the services they provided.
“The funding has not gone up for three years, but obviously our costs have so we were overwhelmed when parents agreed to organise the raffle,” she said. “The money will go towards updating the garden and we very much appreciate the effort everyone has put in.”
Brooklyn will be holding an open day on April 7. For more information phone 01653 696754.
